SOBRE INSTRUMENTOS DE SOPRO

Ruy Ventura's poetry is marked by the beat of the hoe to till the land. A binary beat, to the rhythmic sound of the waves of a harvest, perhaps by summer drought, but fertile, while offering us the verses in seed means, the poems in the make of spike, donation, but not free, suffered. (...) Poet of the soil, poet of reaping, R.V. despises the use of ornaments and focuses on the essential issues: here is this field that needs to be plowed.

síntese

guardarei do teu rosto
apenas o nome:
a dor do espinho rasgando a pele

o teu nome alimentando
o sangue
que guardo neste poema.

synthesis

from your face I will just
preserve the name:
the pain of the thorn tearing the skin
for it a word can come
just one word
printed in the column
that held our childhood.

honey and olive oil rejoin
among flowers and webs of moss.
even within the city
bread takes us from the shadow
your name brazes us from pain
in this night when we watch
the oven from the top of the tallest tower.

little remained of the trip:
the river feeding on the bridge and the fig tree,
feeding your name
the blood
I save within this poem.
